Rockfall protection system at Upper Bhotekoshi Hydroelectric Project (45MW):

  • GSI is providing site services for installation of rockfall protection system supplied by Trumer Schutzbauten, Austria for Upper Bhotekoshi Hydroelectric Project (45MW) at its powerhouse location, Jhirpu, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal.
  • GSI is introducing portable DTH drilling on a mountainous terrain for the first time in Nepal for anchor drilling at inaccessible locations.
  • GSI is pioneering the commercial use of flexible protection structures for geohazards mitigation in the Himalayas.
  • Inaccessible drilling location and rugged terrain features present unique challenges in carrying out drilling works; especially while drilling in the debris and stabilizing the holes in steep slopes.
  • The expected completion date of the Project is December 5, 2016.

 

Model site installation of rockfall protection system supplied by Trumer Schutzbauten, Austria in Siddhababa rock fall area of H10 Siddhartha Highway (Ch 29+500 to Ch. 31+500) for Department of Roads, Government of Nepal:

  • GSI submitted a detailed project report to DoR, Palpa with solutions to 10 most problematic stretches of Siddhartha Highway and has been requested to install a model site.
  • GSI in association with Trumer Schutzbauten, Austria is providing rockfall protection structures free of cost to Department of Roads, Nepal Government for installing a model site at Siddhababa Rockfall area. 
  • GSI is conducting the entire construction operation of this project: Drilling, Anchor grouting, Fence Installation and Slope Stabilization.
  • The expected completion date of the project is February 20, 2017

 

Design and construction supervision services for Earthquake Resistant School Building in Sankhu

  • GSI is providing technical services to Himalaya Conservation Group (HCG) in construction of new earthquake resistant school building at Shree Rastriya Higher Secondary School, Indrayani, Kathmandu.
  • GSI is providing soil test services with portable DCPT for evaluating bearing capacity of foundation soil.
  • GSI is providing a packaged civil engineering solution with design of building, preparation of bill of quantities, tender documents and construction supervision to HCG.
  • The school building is two storey state-of-art earthquake resistant reinforced concrete building with three classrooms in each floor. The school building is designed with compliance to performance level of LIFE SAFETY in maximum credible earthquake events (2000 year return period) and IMMEDIATE OCCUPANCY in design basis earthquake (500 year return period).
  • The expected completion date of the project is March 01, 2016.
